Ingredients
  

  • lbs ground beef 80/20
  • cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz mushrooms sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions
 

  • Mix ground beef with breadcrumbs in bowl.
  • Add egg and Worcestershire sauce to mixture.
  • Season with garlic powder and onion powder.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Form mixture into 4 oval patties.
  • Heat oil in large skillet over medium.
  • Cook patties 4 minutes per side.
  • Remove patties and set aside temporarily.
  • Add butter to same skillet immediately.
  • Cook sliced mushrooms until golden brown.
  • Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir.
  • Slowly add beef broth while whisking.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce to gravy mixture.
  • Return patties to skillet with gravy.
  • Simmer 10 minutes until heated through.

Notes

  1. Use 80/20 ground beef for best flavor and moisture retention.
  2. Don't overmix the meat mixture to keep patties tender.
  3. Let patties rest 5 minutes before cooking for better shape.
  4. Cook mushrooms until golden for deeper gravy flavor.
  5. Whisk gravy constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
