  • A medium saucepan
  • One large baking sheet.
  • Parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • A wooden spoon or spatula.
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients
  

  • 10 cups of popped popcorn.
  • 1 cup of unsalted butter.
  • 1 cup of brown sugar.
  • 1/2 cup of light corn syrup.
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  • 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda.

Instructions
 

  • Pop your corn kernels first. Remove any unpopped seeds. Place the popcorn in a big bowl.
  • Put butter in your saucepan. Melt it over medium heat. Do not let it burn.
  • Add brown sugar and corn syrup. Stir everything together well.
  • Let the mix boil for five minutes. Do not stir it during this time.
  • Take the pan off the heat. Stir in vanilla, salt, and baking soda. The mix will get foamy.
  • Pour the hot toffee over the popcorn. Toss it gently to coat every piece.
  • Spread the popcorn on a baking sheet. Bake at 250°F for 30 minutes. Let it cool completely before eating.

  • Always remove unpopped kernels first.

  • Do not rush the boiling step.
