Ingredients
  

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb andouille sausage sliced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 1 bell pepper chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions.
  • Drain and set aside carefully.
  • Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add sliced andouille sausage and cook until browned.
  • Add ground beef to the same skillet.
  • Cook until meat is completely browned and crumbled.
  • Add diced onion and bell pepper to meat.
  • Cook until vegetables are tender and fragrant.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook one minute.
  • Add marinara sauce and Cajun seasoning blend.
  • Simmer sauce mixture for ten minutes until thickened.
  • Season with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Mix ricotta cheese with eggs in bowl.
  • Add half the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F for proper baking.
  • Grease your 9x13 inch baking dish thoroughly.
  • Layer three noodles in prepared baking dish.
  • Spread half the cheese mixture over noodles.
  • Add half the meat sauce over cheese.
  • Repeat layers with remaining ingredients carefully.
  • Top with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.
  • Cover tightly with aluminum foil completely.
  • Bake covered for 25 minutes until bubbly.
  • Remove foil and bake 15 minutes more.
  • Let rest 10 minutes before serving portions.

Notes

  1. Use authentic andouille sausage for best flavor
  2. Don't overcook the lasagna noodles initially
  3. Let the Cajun lasagna recipe rest before cutting
