Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 can 14 oz cranberry sauce
  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

Make the meatballs

  • In a bowl, mix beef, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Roll the mix into small balls. Place them on a baking sheet.

Bake the meatballs

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake meatballs for 18–20 minutes until browned. You can also cook them on a pan if you like.

Make the cranberry sauce

  • In a saucepan, add cranberry sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, and lemon juice. Stir and cook on medium heat until smooth.

Mix and simmer

  • Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce. Stir gently so they are coated well. Simmer for 10 minutes until the sauce thickens and sticks to the meatballs.

Serve and enjoy

  • Place the meatballs on a plate. Garnish with parsley if you like. Serve hot and enjoy the festive flavor.

Notes

  • Use fresh beef for soft meatballs.
  • Don’t overmix the meat.
  • Bake them instead of frying for less oil.
  • Add a little orange zest for extra flavor.
  • Keep sauce warm before serving.
