Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts almonds or pecans

Instructions
 

Prepare the pan

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set it aside. You can lightly butter the paper for easy removal.

Melt the butter and sugar

  • In a saucepan, melt butter on medium heat. Add sugar and stir until mixed. Keep stirring to stop it from burning.

Cook the toffee

  • Cook the mix until golden brown. If using a thermometer, it should reach 300°F (150°C). Be patient and keep stirring.

Add flavor

  • Once it’s ready, remove from heat. Add vanilla and salt. Mix well.

Spread and add chocolate

  • Pour the toffee on the baking sheet. Spread it evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Wait a minute, then spread melted chocolate.

Add nuts and cool

  • Sprinkle chopped nuts over the chocolate. Let it cool fully. Break into small pieces once hard.
