- 8 oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 4 tbsp Cold Unsalted Butter
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Paprika
- 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tbsp Cold Water
Grate the Cheese: Use a box grater for the cheese. Fresh cheese melts better than bagged shreds.
Mix Dry Ingredients: Put flour and spices in the processor. Pulse them a few times to combine.
Add Cheese and Butter: Throw in the cheese and cold butter. Pulse until it looks like coarse crumbs.
Add Cold Water: Pour in one tablespoon of water. Pulse until a soft dough ball forms.
Chill the Dough: Wrap the dough in plastic wrap. Let it rest in the fridge for twenty minutes.
Roll the Dough: Roll the dough onto parchment paper. Make it about one-eighth inch thick.
Cut the Shapes: Use a pizza cutter for squares. You can also use small cookie cutters.
Poke the Centers: Use a skewer to poke a hole. This stops the crackers from puffing up.
Bake Until Golden: Place them in a hot oven. Bake until the edges are nice and brown.
