Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 ½ cups crispy fried onions

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Boil the green beans for 3 minutes, then drain.
  • Set the green beans aside.
  • In a pan, cook onions and mushrooms in butter for 5 minutes.
  • Add soup, milk, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Stir well.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Mix the green beans with the sauce.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  • Top with fried onions.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden and bubbly.

Notes

  1. Fresh green beans give a crisper texture.
  2. Add more milk if you want the sauce creamier.
  3. Sauté garlic with the onions for extra flavor.
  4. Add fried onions just before baking for crunch.
  5. You can make this dish a day ahead and bake it later.
