Ingredients

  • 8 cups of fresh water.
  • 6 Red Zinger tea bags.
  • 1/2 cup of pure honey.
  • 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice.
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish.
  • Lemon slices for extra flavor.
  • Ice cubes for serving cold.

Instructions

Boil the Water

  • Start by pouring water into a pot. Place it on high heat. Wait for the water to boil. Large bubbles should appear on top.

Steep the Tea

  • Turn off the heat now. Add the Red Zinger tea bags. Let them sit for ten minutes. This makes the flavor very strong.

Remove the Bags

  • Take the tea bags out carefully. Do not squeeze the tea bags. Squeezing can make the tea bitter. Throw the old bags away.

Add the Sweetener

  • Pour the honey into the hot tea. Stir it until it melts completely. The tea should look very smooth. Honey adds a nice natural sweetness.

Mix in Lemon Juice

  • Add the fresh lemon juice now. This adds a nice tart kick. Stir everything together one last time. The smell will be amazing.

Cool the Tea

  • Let the tea reach room temperature. Then, pour it into a pitcher. Put the pitcher in the fridge. Let it get very cold.

Serve with Garnish

  • Fill glasses with plenty of ice. Pour the cold tea over ice. Add mint and lemon slices. Enjoy your homemade herbal tea!

Notes

  • Use filtered water for better taste.
  • Do not over-boil the tea bags.
  • Use fresh lemons, not bottled juice.
  • Adjust honey to your own taste.
  • Add ginger for a spicy twist.
  • Make tea ice cubes for cooling.
  • Store it in glass, not plastic.
  • Add orange slices for more citrus.
