Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
  • 1 heaping tsp BAKING SODA
  • 1/2 tsp SEA SALT
  • 8 tbsp UNSALTED BUTTER
  • 2 cups LIGHT BROWN SUGAR
  • 2 large EGGS
  • 1 1/2 tsp VANILLA EXTRACT
  • 1 1/2 cups SEMISWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Set your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit now. Let it get nice and hot first. This ensures the cookies bake perfectly even.

Step 2:

  • Line your baking sheets with some parchment paper. This stops the cookies from sticking to metal. It makes the cleanup very fast later.

Step 3:

  • Get a medium bowl for your dry mix. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt inside. Whisk them together until they are well blended.

Step 4:

  • Put the soft butter in a large bowl. Add all the brown sugar to the butter. Beat them together until the mix is fluffy.

Step 5:

  • Add the large eggs to the sugar mix. Pour in the sweet vanilla extract as well. Beat the mixture until it is very smooth.

Step 6:

  • Turn your mixer to a lower speed now. Slowly add the flour mix to the bowl. Mix it just until the white disappears.

Step 7:

  • Add the semisweet chocolate chips to the dough. Use a spoon or mixer to fold them. Make sure they are spread out very well.

Step 8:

  • Use a spoon to drop dough onto sheets. Leave two inches of space between each one. Do not flatten the dough balls at all.

Step 9:

  • Slide the baking sheets into the hot oven. Bake them for about ten to eleven minutes. Watch for a light golden brown color.

Step 10:

  • Take the cookies out of the oven carefully. Let them sit on the pan for one minute. This helps them set their final shape.

Step 11:

  • Move the cookies to a wire cooling rack. Let them cool down for a few minutes. Now they are ready for you to eat.

Notes

  • Use room temperature butter so it creams well.
  • Do not overmix the dough after adding flour.
  • Use a heaping teaspoon of baking soda here.
  • Let the cookies rest on the hot pan.
  • Try adding a little extra salt on top.
  • Use high-quality chocolate chips for better melting.
  • Pack your brown sugar firmly in the cup.
  • Do not crowd the cookies on the sheet.
  • Check your oven temp with a separate thermometer.
