Measuring cups
- 12 Oz White American Cheese
- 4 Oz Monterey Jack Cheese
- 1/2 Cup Whole Milk
- 4 Oz Canned Green Chiles
- 2 Tbsp Pickled Jalapenos
- 1/4 Tsp Cumin
- 1/4 Tsp Garlic Powder
Chop your white American cheese into small cubes carefully. Chop the Monterey Jack cheese into small pieces too. Place the cheese cubes inside your medium saucepan now.
Pour the whole milk over the cheese cubes gently. Turn your kitchen stove to low heat settings immediately. Never use high heat for melting cheese blocks.
Stir the mixture constantly with your wooden spoon. Watch the cheese melt into a smooth liquid slow. This process takes about eight to ten minutes.
Open your cans of green chiles and jalapenos carefully. Stir the diced green chiles into the melted cheese. Add the finely chopped pickled jalapenos next.
Sprinkle the ground cumin into the warm sauce pan. Add the savory garlic powder to the mixture now. Stir well to combine all your spices evenly.
Remove the hot saucepan from the stove burner carefully. Pour the warm queso blanco into a serving bowl. Serve it immediately while it is hot and runny.
- Always melt your cheese over very low heat settings.
- Stir the cheese constantly to prevent it from burning.
- Use high-quality block cheese for the absolute best texture.
- Add extra milk if your cheese dip looks too thick.
