- 1.5 Lbs Shrimp
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- 1 Medium Onion
- 1 Large Bell Pepper
- 2 Ribs Celery
- 3 Cloves Garlic
- 8 Oz Tomato Sauce
- 14 Oz Diced Tomatoes
- 1 Tbsp Creole Seasoning
- 1 Tsp Hot Source
- 3 Stalks Green Onions
Melt your butter in the large skillet over medium heat. Do not let the butter burn or turn brown. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and celery carefully. Cook them until they are soft and translucent.
Add the minced garlic to the skillet now. Stir it constantly for one minute. This will release the beautiful aroma quickly. Do not cook it too long or it will taste bitter.
Pour in the tomato sauce and the diced tomatoes next. Stir the mixture well to combine everything. Add your Creole seasoning and hot sauce to the pan. Bring the liquid to a gentle simmer.
Let the sauce simmer for fifteen minutes on low heat. This helps the flavors blend together perfectly. The sauce will thicken up nicely during this time. Stir it occasionally so it does not stick.
Toss the clean shrimp into the hot sauce carefully. Cook them for about five minutes. Watch them closely as they cook. They are ready when they turn pink and opaque.
Turn off the stove heat immediately. Sprinkle the fresh green onions on top. Serve the warm Creole over hot white rice. Enjoy your delicious home cooked meal.
- Use fresh wild caught shrimp for the best natural flavor.
- Do not overcook the shrimp because they will become rubbery.
- Adjust the hot sauce to match your personal heat preference.
- Taste the sauce before adding salt since seasonings have salt.
