- 4 Slices Rustic White Bread
- 1 Clove Garlic
- 2 Tbsp Basil Pesto
- 8 Slices Swiss Cheese
- 0.5 Lb Deli Roast Turkey
- 2 Tbsp Salted Butter
Place your rustic white bread slices on a clean cutting board. Cut your raw garlic clove in half with a sharp knife. Rub the cut side of the garlic over the bread slices. This infuses the outer crust with a wonderful savory flavor.
Spread a thin layer of basil pesto on the inside bread. Lay down two slices of premium swiss cheese on the bottom. Add a generous portion of thin deli roast turkey right on top. Cover the turkey with two more slices of delicious swiss cheese.
Place the second slice of rustic white bread on the top. Brush the outside of the bread with melted salted butter evenly. Heat your large skillet on the stove over medium low heat. Place the assembled sandwich into the warm skillet very carefully.
Place your foil wrapped heavy brick directly on top of the sandwich. Pressing the bread helps the cheese melt into the turkey. Cook the first side for about three to four minutes long. The bottom crust should look beautiful and golden brown.
Remove the heavy brick from the pan with an oven mitt. Flip the sandwich over using a wide spatula very carefully. Put the heavy brick back on top of the bread immediately. Cook the second side for another three minutes until crispy.
Take the pressed sandwich out of the hot pan carefully. Let it rest on your cutting board for one minute. Slice the warm food in half using a sharp knife. Serve it warm while the cheese is still hot and gooey.
- Keep your stove heat low so the bread does not burn fast.
- Always wrap your heavy kitchen brick tightly in clean aluminum foil.
- Use high quality deli meat for the very best savory flavor.
- Let the cooked sandwich rest for one minute before you cut it.
- Feel free to add fresh spinach for extra crunch and nutrition.
