- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ teaspoons dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk not hot
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons soft butter
- Extra butter for brushing
Warm the milk a little.
Mix yeast, warm milk, and sugar. Let it rest.
Add flour, egg, salt, and butter.
Knead the dough by hand or with a mixer.
Put dough in a greased bowl and cover it.
Let it rise for 1 hour.
Push the air out and divide into 12 balls.
Shape into rolls and place on a tray.
Cover and let them rise for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Brush the tops with melted butter.
Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
Brush again with butter and let cool.
- Use fresh yeast for better rise.
- Don’t make the milk too hot.
- A mixer helps with kneading.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place.
