Ingredients

  • 2 lbs WHOLE CARROTS
  • 4 tbsp SALTED BUTTER
  • 1/2 cup WHISKEY
  • 1/2 cup BROWN SUGAR
  • 1/2 tsp SALT
  • 1/4 tsp BLACK PEPPER
  • 1 tbsp FRESH PARSLEY

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Wash and peel all of your carrots first. Use a sharp knife to slice them thin. Make sure the rounds are the same size. This helps them cook at the same time.

Step 2:

  • Melt your salted butter in the large skillet. Keep the heat on a medium setting now. Wait until the butter starts to bubble slightly. Do not let the butter turn brown yet.

Step 3:

  • Add the sliced carrots to the hot butter. Stir them well to coat every single piece. Cook them for about five to eight minutes. They should start to get a little soft.

Step 4:

  • Pour in the whiskey very carefully now. Be careful because the steam will be hot. Let the liquid simmer for a few minutes. This lets the sharp alcohol scent fade away.

Step 5:

  • Sprinkle the brown sugar over the carrots next. Add the salt and the black pepper too. Stir everything together until the sugar melts down. It will start to look like syrup.

Step 6:

  • Cover the skillet with a tight lid now. Turn the heat down to a low setting. Let the carrots simmer for twenty more minutes. This makes them very tender and juicy.

Step 7:

  • Remove the lid and check the carrots. The sauce should be thick and very sticky. The carrots should be soft and very tender. If the sauce is thin, cook longer.

Step 8:

  • Sprinkle the fresh parsley on top before serving. Serve the carrots while they are still warm. Enjoy your delicious and sweet side dish today. Your family will be very happy now.
