  • Loaf pan (9x5 inch)

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast 2¼ tsp
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg for egg wash

Instructions
 

  • Warm milk to 110°F in microwave.
  • Mix yeast with warm milk.
  • Let mixture sit for 5 minutes.
  • Add honey and melted butter.
  • Mix flour and salt separately.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients.
  • Knead dough for 8-10 minutes.
  • Place in greased bowl.
  • Cover with damp towel.
  • Let rise for 1 hour.
  • Punch down risen dough.
  • Shape into loaf form.
  • Place in greased pan.
  • Rise again for 30 minutes.
  • Brush with beaten egg.
  • Bake at 375°F.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Cool on wire rack.

Notes

  1. Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing and consistent results.
  2. Don't over-flour the surface while kneading to maintain softness.
  3. Test yeast freshness by checking for bubbling in warm milk.
  4. Cover dough properly during rising to prevent drying out.
