- 2 pounds of lean beef like top round
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
- 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
Cut the beef thin across the grain.
Mix all sauces and spices in a bowl.
Add beef slices to the bowl and mix well.
Cover and let it sit in the fridge overnight.
Heat oven or dehydrator to 160°F.
Dry the beef with paper towels.
Put the slices on a rack or tray.
Cook for 4 to 6 hours.
The beef should be dry but bendy.
Let it cool before storing in bags.
