Garlic Chicken Lo Mein Recipe

  • Large wok or skillet

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz lo mein noodles
  • 1 lb chicken breast sliced thin
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables carrots, cabbage, bell peppers
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Boil water in a large pot.
  • Add lo mein noodles and cook for 4 minutes.
  • Drain and rinse with cold water.
  • Set aside for later use.
  • Heat oil in your wok over high heat.
  • Add sliced chicken and cook for 5 minutes.
  • The chicken should turn golden brown.
  • Remove and set aside on a plate.
  • Add minced garlic to the same wok.
  • Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Toss in your mixed vegetables immediately.
  • Stir-fry for 3 minutes until slightly soft.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the wok.
  • Add your prepared noodles next.
  • Pour all the sauce ingredients over everything.
  • Toss well for 2 minutes until combined.
  • Everything should be evenly coated with sauce.

Notes

  • Don't overcook your noodles or they'll get mushy.
  • Use high heat for that authentic restaurant flavor.
  • Cut chicken into thin, even slices for quick cooking.
