Equipment

  • Food processor
  • Mixing bowl
  • Glass Jar
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Cherry Peppers Pickled
  • 1/2 Cup Red Bell Peppers
  • 1/4 Cup White Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • 2 Tbsp Water

Instructions

  • Wash your fresh red bell peppers first. Remove the stems and all the seeds inside. Slice them into small, manageable chunks now. This makes them easier to process later.
  • Put cherry peppers in the food processor. Add your sliced red bell peppers too. Pulse the machine a few times carefully. Do not turn the peppers into juice.
  • Stop when the pieces look like small bits. They should look like traditional sandwich relish. Scrape the sides of the bowl down. This ensures every piece gets chopped evenly.
  • Grab your medium-sized mixing bowl now. Pour in the vinegar and the water. Stir in the sugar and the salt. Mix until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Add the chopped peppers to the liquid. Stir the mixture with a large spoon. Let the flavors sit for ten minutes. This allows the peppers to soak up juice.
  • Transfer the relish into a clean jar. Press the peppers down into the liquid. Make sure the juice covers the peppers. Seal the lid on the jar tightly.

Notes

  • Use gloves while handling spicy hot cherry peppers.
  • Pulse the food processor slowly to keep texture.
  • Let the relish sit overnight for better flavor.
  • Adjust the sugar if you want it less sweet.
